Swap Genie has been born out of 25 year’s experience writing for car magazines, as well as undertaking plenty of engine swaps in my cars and friend’s cars outside of office hours. Modified cars are my work, my hobby, and my life.

Initially, I wanted to create a library of engine specifications people could look up to see how powerful, tall, wide, long, and heavy different engines are to help them find the best option for their project. This quickly snowballed out as people rightfully suggested it would be handy to include interesting engine combos, technical breakdowns for ancillary services like wiring, ECUs, fuel- and ignition-systems, tailshafts, transmissions, and more.

This site is constantly evolving as I curate and organise information to help everyone from home-based shadetree mechanics (like me), up to workshops wanting to make their engine swap projects quicker and more efficient to get through the shop.
